Achievements for Lesson Plan:

By the end of the lesson, students should be able to present creative tableaus that include proper dramatic techniques to demonstrate a powerful message to audiences about positive social change in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

Students will use a variety of literacy skills including written scripts, oral communication, and visual components to research the importance of historical artifacts and present the views of influential 2SLGBTQIA+ members to audiences as a means of fostering positive social change.

Students need a clear explanation of assessment expectations of using artifacts as the focal point of their dramatic presentations

Students will need to be able to work effectively in groups that foster their academic, artistic, and literacy strengths. Such as having one student as the narrator, some students silently preforming, and all students researching and writing the script using proper dramatic terminology

Theme of Lesson Plan- Body Image:
Students will explore the positive and negative impacts that social media has on body image. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding on what positive nutrition can look like and its effects on body image.
Activity and Infused Arts Pedagogical Tool

Students will be separated into groups of four to five students

Students will research and choose one social media advertising campaign that represents feelings of a negative body image

Students will write a one to two minute script for the narrator to read from the viewpoint of someone struggling with negative body images while the remaining actors will perform using dance and movements the narrators feelings. This will create narrative tableaux on negative body image.
